Our garden for Chelsea Flower Show 2014 – FR1
The Himalayan Rock Garden is a collage of cultures, materials and plants that celebrates both the exotic and familiar. It tells the epic horticultural story of stones and plants that have travelled from afar to become part of our heritage. The conceptual garden is for visual enjoyment and embodies a jewelled carpet of colours and textures that conjure visions of Himalayan craftsmanship.
Interwoven paths, a rill and thoughtful planting suggest a new, contemporary vision for a rock garden. Dramatic yellow sandstone is used alongside our Modak paving to create intriguing walkways amongst the four segments. A timber pavilion provides a shady bower to view the garden in all its glory while boulders create a backdrop for natural planting.
