The Curious Garden – Creating Award Winning Combinations

Jun 13, 2018

Southport Flower Show 2017 took an alternate turn this year with the theme The Curious Garden

Keen to turn the heads of the judges, Garden Designers and Landscapers from across the country went head to head to create award winning show gardens within just two weeks.

This year we were proud to contribute to Kirman Designs which was sponsored by C&W Berry. Kirmans contemporary design certainly was curious with the theme Kuro, meaning ‘black’ in Japanese. A fascinating concept, the garden offered two in one. The first with its urban tones is set within water. Leading the way, a porcelain pathway guides you past a sunken firepit through to the second, a secluded woodland escape called The Cube. This design beautifully encapsulated a sophisticated modern lifestyle. With sleek lines framing a social area and at the same time encompassing an urban retreat.

This amazing concept scooped not just one but four awards:

  • Large Garden Gold
  • Best Use of Flowers
  • Best Outside Garden
  • Large Garden Outside Gardens

Create your own breath-taking area and get the look using Global Stone Premium Porcelain Mixed Sized Series Liquorice. Available in a versatile 600×1200 tile it allows for a range of laying patterns and designs, making it an ideal choice for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
