RHS Chelsea: Stihl Hillier Garden wins Gold Medal

Jul 18, 2018

Hillier Nurseries won their 74th Gold Medal with The Stihl Hillier Garden, retaining their title as most successful exhibitor at RHS Chelsea! They are currently the world record holder for winning 74 consecutive Gold Medals at RHS Chelsea. Long may their reign continue!

Designed by Lilly Gomm; this was her Chelsea debut as well as her first gold medal at an RHS show.

Located in the Pavilion, The Stihl Hiller Garden blended together contemporary and traditional elements. For example, the central focal point was a water feature, visible from all areas. Additionally, Hillier introduced three plants, brand new to RHS Chelsea; Weigela ‘Picobella Rosa’, Isoplexis Isabelliana ‘Bella’ and Cordyline ‘Pink Star’.

Another star of the show was Premium Porcelain Toscana in Almond, Lilly’s choice of paving this year, complemented the garden perfectly. The Toscana Almond’s beautifully muted colours flowed along the soft borders of flowers, making their colours pop.

The Toscana range has regularly featured in award winning gardens and is loved by designers and homeowners alike.

Lilly said of her win: “I am feeling so many emotions since winning the medal – happiness, shock, relief! I am beyond thrilled that we have been able to carry on the momentum and win a 74th consecutive gold for Hillier.”

We have received a lot of interest in Toscana Almond since the show. If you’d like to speak to us about this paving, please contact us or locate your nearest stockist!
