RHS Flower Show Tatton Park – Young Designer Of The Year Competition 2016
Jun 17, 2016
Global Stone are delighted to sponsor two of the finalists in the RHS Young Designer of the Year competition at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park running from the 20th–24th July
In its eighth year, the competition gives aspiring garden designers aged 28 years and under the chance to kick-start their careers, gain exposure at a prestigious RHS flower show and compete for the coveted title. This year three finalists have been selected to design a show garden based on the theme of Health, Happiness and Horticulture.
We are proud to be providing paving materials to two of the three finalists to use on their show gardens. While both have chosen from our Petrous Porcelain Range, they have opted for two very different products to enhance their designs.
Caitlin McLaughlin, 25, from Northampton, has created a garden inspired by the hedgerows and wildflower meadows across the UK. Her design called “Nature & Nurture”, represents an urban nature reserve, creating a calm space for people to relax in the city, with an emphasis on the benefits of green spaces to human health and wellbeing. Caitlin’s design uses our stunning Toscana Smoke to provide the backdrop for her calming urban garden.
Lilly Gomm, 26, from London, presents “A Space to Ruminate”, an open plan area that transforms the view from indoor to outdoor living. Visitors will be drawn into the garden through the use of a wooden pergola and reclaimed scaffolding path, leading onto an edible kitchen containing seasonal produce, which is positioned beside a private seating area trailing with hops. Lilly uses our beautiful Parchment paving from the Premium Porcelain range to create the open plan spaces in her design.
Congratulations to them both for getting to the final and we wish them good luck for the judging day! We look forward to seeing all the competition show gardens.
