We were delighted to provide Global Stone Artisan Mirage stone for VaRa Garden Design, who won a Silver Gilt at this year’s show, a great success for their first ever show garden. Their garden called ‘Foundations for Growth’ welcomed visitors with strong, structural planting, harmonious colours and contrasting textures.
Striking features in corten steel and open vistas through foliage revealed hidden potential, supported by a solid foundation of Global Stone Artisan Mirage paving in Castle Grey. The Artisan collection offers a versatile honed natural sandstone with a beautiful smooth finish, suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. An inspirational sunken area was surrounded by restful hedging and stirring grasses, ahead of a patio, also in Global Stone Artisan Mirage, to contemplate the journey of achievement and growth, and to plan the path ahead.
VaRa Garden Design worked closely with tutors and students from Capel Manor College, offering students the opportunity of gaining hands-on, practical experience both in the planning stages, as well as the final build. Hard landscaping students created the show garden, and garden design and horticulture students helped with planting. Following the show they planned to relocate the garden to an educational organisation, so that it can be used either as a demonstration garden for students in a college or school or as a conceptual garden for visitors to an institution to represent the journey of education.
Congratulations to all the students and tutors at Capel Manor College as well as Vanessa and Rachel in creating this beautiful award winning garden.
