Cast in Stone: Hannah Wins 30 Under 30 Award
May 09, 2017
At Global Stone we invest not only in our products, but also our people. We take pride in our people, providing them with every opportunity for development.
We work with many organisations who help us provide these opportunities, including Pro Landscaper. Since 2015, Pro Landscaper have held the 30 Under 30 Award, recognising thirty young people under the age of 30 within the horticultural and landscape sectors.
Hannah Ryan
One member of our team who has grown from strength to strength since her arrival to Global Stone back in January 2013, is Technical Product Manager, Hannah Ryan. It gives us great delight to celebrate Hannah as one of the winners of the 30 Under 30 Award.
Hannah joined Global Stone aged 19 as a Sales Administrator. Within four years she now runs the import and export department, coaching and developing her own staff. Hannah also provides technical support to internal and external customers, including product training.
At the still young age of 25, Hannah has achieved an NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Business Administration, and a Level 2 Certificate in Leadership and Team Skills with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
“I have achieved my ambition”
Hannah’s ambitions to grow and develop has not stopped here, as she says in her own words:
“Within 5 years, I have achieved my ambition to become a manager of my own department. In another 5 years I aim to have achieved a more senior role such as Head of Operations, or similar, as I enjoy processes and organisation. For the next stage of my career, I would love to be more involved in the selection process of these products. Earlier this year I went with the company to Italy for a couple of days to meet with our suppliers and to see how our porcelain products are made, so I feel I am heading to the next stage already!”
Immensely Proud
Directors Sara Cullis and Clare Morgan were delighted to nominate Hannah for the 30 Under 30 Award:
“Hannah joined Global Stone and has gone from strength to strength; she has a thirst for knowledge and self-improvement, always looking at ways that she can take the company forward. She epitomises all that the industry should be attracting and developing for the next generation of the landscaping industry.”
Hannah feels that the landscaping industry provides young people with the opportunity to build on their existing experiences as well as develop the skills to enable them to progress and succeed.
Global Stone are immensely proud of Hannah’s accomplishment and congratulate her on this very well-deserved award.
